LUXURY homes in a new £10 million development in Astley will go on sale next month.

The 4.5-acre Astley Point development on Higher Green Lane will consist of 12 luxury one and two-bedroom apartments in two new three-storey buildings, two three-bedroom exclusive penthouse apartments and 14 family homes.

The first batch of homes will be available to buy off-plan at a sales launch event at The Greyhound Hotel on Warrington Road, Leigh, from 6pm on Thursday, August 3.

Prices start from £150,000 for apartments and from £320,000 for houses, which will all have balconies to the front and rear.

Sean McCaul, director of developer Salcaul Limited, said: “We are thrilled with the progress we are making at Astley Point and we have already received more than 250 enquiries from potential purchasers.

"We are launching the homes for sale off-plan and the first houses will be ready to move into by mid-September.

“Our architects Cartwright and Gross have created a truly exciting scheme for the site which will set the new homes and leisure opportunities in stunning landscaped surroundings informed by the local heritage, history and countryside.

“We have also received huge amount of interest in our commercial leisure space and are pleased to say that all the units have now been taken.”

In addition to the new homes, the development will boast three new restaurants, a wine bar and an events venue overlooking the landscaped gardens and lake.

Salcaul Limited, a joint venture between Salboy Ltd and Redwater Homes, envisages that more than 70 new permanent jobs will be created at Astley Point.

There are a number of apartments available to purchase through Wigan Council’s affordable housing scheme and Help to Buy.
