A BOLTON MP is backing a hard-hitting campaign warning of the dangers of drinking and driving.
Brian Iddon, MP for Bolton South-east, wants people to leave their cars at home if they plan to drink over the festive period.
Around 300 people a year are killed or seriously injured on roads in the North-west because of drink-driving.
Dr Iddon said: “Drink-driving can ruin lives.
“If you get behind the wheel after drinking alcohol, you risk wrecking your own and other people’s lives.”
