BOLTON North-east MP David Crausby is calling on the Government to introduce a single rate for the national minimum wage.
The rate for workers aged 21 and over was raised in October to £5.52 an hour.
Younger people aged between 18 and 21 must be paid at least £4.60 an hour, while those aged 16 and 17 are entitled to £3.40 an hour.
Mr Crausby has added his support to a campaign led by the Unite trade union.
He said: "It is unfair that young workers are paid less than the full adult national minimum wage for, in many cases, doing the same work."
