A LITTLE theatre is feeling a little bit out of focus.

Tyldesley Little Theatre’s 2014/15 season will open on September 30 with a cleverly crafted comedy.

Out of Focus by Peter Gordon is set in the annexe of a church hall, where a series of overbookings have occurred. Comic characters emerge as confusion reigns until everyone unites for a common cause and receives their just desserts.

Alongside rehearsals, the group is celebrating after veteran performer Margaret Speakes received a Best Actress Award from the Bolton Amateur Theatre Societies this summer from the 10 award nominations the group received at both Bolton and the recent Greater Manchester Drama Federation Awards Dinner.

Ian Hunter returns to the role of Leonard which he first played at TLT in 1996, and he is revelling in playing the character of a nerdish presenter of speeches on any number of extremely boring subjects.

Roma Etherington will play an ineffectual vicar’s wife, Joan Rogers a shrewish Brownie leader and Ingrid Folkard-Evans the calming influence who manages to charm off-duty policeman Alex Clarke whilst offering marriage guidance to the ever quarrelling Andrea Peters and Ian Taylor.

Meanwhile, newcomer and Rhiannon Williams and one of the theatre’s youngest regulars, Connor Parkinson, present a crash course in comical flirtation.
