A GARDEN centre says residents would be hopping mad to miss out on its range of ‘eggciting’ activities this Easter.

Bents Home and Garden will host a Big Bunny Hop from 2pm on Saturday, April 15, with the 5k challenge through the Windy Bank Woods raising money for its charity of the year, the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Glazebury centre is encouraging people of all ages to sign up, dress up, shake their bunny tails and walk, run or hop their way to the finish line before receiving an Easter treat.

There is also an Easter-themed treasure hunt, an Indoor Beach and Adventure Golf Course an Easter painting activities to look forward to at Bents.

The painting activities will take place on the Wednesdays and Thursdays of April 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 and enable children to decorate their own ceramic Easter basket ready to take home and fill with goodies.

On Monday, April 3, eight real chickens' eggs will arrive at Bents Children’s Boutique, where they will be cared for before hatching in time for the Easter weekend.

Children can watch the hatching experience at the garden centre over the school holidays.

A live stream of the hatching progress will be set up on Bents' website.

The Big Bunny Hop costs £2.50 for children, £5 for adults and £10 for a family of four.

To register in advance e-mail events@bents.co.uk or you can enter on the day, with all the proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Easter painting activities costs £2.99 per child, which includes an Easter treat. No advance booking is required but tickets must be bought on the day from customer services or the Children’s Boutique at Bents.
