A BIRDWATCHING group has organised a presentation and a trip to two nature reserves.
Leigh Ornithological Society (LOS) is inviting residents to attend a talk about wildlife in the Falkland Islands at Leigh Library on Friday and a trip to Woolston Eyes and Risley Moss Nature Reserve in Warrington on Sunday.
The presentation will take place in the Derby Room on the first floor of the library from 7.15pm and will be hosted by John Earnshaw, who will discuss animals native to the Falklands, such as king and gentoo penguins and the black-browed albatross.
Entry is free but the society will welcome donations from non-members.
People wishing to attend the trip to Woolston Eyes and Risley Moss Nature Reserve should meet at Doctors Nook Car Park opposite Leigh Library at 8am, come prepared for wet and cold weather and bring food and refreshments.
There will be a small charge for entry to Woolston Eyes.
Car sharing is available.
To book a place on the trip call Angela Pike on 07816 178582.
