A THEATRE company will be bringing the office to the stage in its summer production.

The New Garrett Theatre is staging 9 to 5 The Musical at Atherton Community School for four consecutive days from Wednesday, July 5.

The PG-rated musical, which has been shown on Broadway, is based on the 1980 Hollywood film with the same name which tells the story of a group of women in an office plotting against their sexist boss to get him sacked.

The New Garrett Theatre publicity committee member Adele Taylor said: “This is a very exciting time for us.

“The show is very ambitious and we have been working hard as a cast and crew team and community to ensure that each aspect of the show is complete to a high standard, from the harmonies to the set design.

“We have also been able to expand our band for this show, drawing in talent from the local area."

The evening shows will start at 7.15pm and there will be an extra matinee performance from 2.15pm on Saturday, July 8.

Tickets are £8 for adults and £6 for children and concessions.

There are also family and group tickets available.

The ticket prices include a drink and pasty and people are invited to bring their own alcohol.

Members of the theatre company will also be performing at Atherton Carnival on Sunday, June 25, and will feature in the parade.
