ANDREW and Jane's house is not one estate agents would find easy to sell in Tyldesley Little Theatre's first production of the new season.

The house is accident prone. A number of people have died there in unfortunate circumstances and when their daughter’s boyfriend Geoff – played by newcomer Joe Wellman – arrives things really start to get difficult.

Geoff is unaware of the house’s history and, due to misunderstandings, he thinks something sinister is going on.

So when the local vicar – played by returning member Cat Hughes – drops in he feels it is his duty to protect her.

Add Andrew’s sister Sarah and his daughter Sally – played by award winner Hannah Boardman and Rhiannon Burke respectively – plus grandparents, a TV repair woman and a wheelbarrow and you have a recipe for comedic delight.

Beyond a Joke will run at the theatre on Lemon Street, Tyldesley, from September 26 to 30.

Tyldesley Little Theatre’s Carly Lomax said: “Starring theatre favourites Alex Clarke and Joyce Elder in the roles of Andrew and Jane, this hilarious play, directed by first time producer Connor Parkinson, is not to be missed.”
