Lee Ryan will make his return to EastEnders playing Whitney’s new fiance, which is set to ruffle feathers at the Queen Vic.
The Blue singer made his Albert Square debut in April as bad lad barman Woody Woodward, leaving in May under a dark cloud after landlord Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) caught him in bed with Whitney (Shona McGarty).
Whitney had just been served divorce papers by Mick’s son Lee (Danny-Boy Hatchard) but her relationship with her ex father-in-law is even more complicated as they have previously shared a passionate kiss while she was still married.
New pictures show that a glamorous-looking Whitney is back in Walford and moves back into the pub, under encouragement from Mick.
Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) has a few choice words for her but Whitney stands her ground – only to shock Mick with her big news that she is marrying Woody.
As she shows off a sparkly engagement ring, what will Mick think of her new romance?
And will he manage to welcome Woody back with open arms after getting off on the wrong foot during his first stint on the Square?
:: The episodes including Whitney’s return are due to air on BBC One from Monday and Ryan will be back on screen from August.
