One of the absolute must see artists in the UK is coming to Gwaenysgor for an unmissable showcase of faultless folk.

Folk fans will have an amazing opportunity to catch up-and-coming Somerset singer songwriter Kitty Macfarlane on her ascendancy at Gwaenysgor village hall this autumn..

Despite only releasing her debut EP - Tide & Time - in 2016, Macfarlane is a startlingly accomplished performer whose mesmerising and lilting natural vibrato has already garnered a substantial following on the folk circuit.

Attracting national attention in 2015 when she made it to the semi-final of the BBC Young Folk Award in 2015, Macfarlane has continued to hone her craft touring with the likes of award-winning duo Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman.

Blessed with a refreshingly surefooted sense of self, Macfarlane wows with complex compositions that infuse her nuanced songrwriting with snapshots of everyday life adding a layer of deeper, timeless significance through the lens of an astonishingly sophisticated narrative style.

Add to that a powerful and precise fingerpicked guitar accompaniment, and Macfarlane’s upcoming September 21 release Namer of Clouds is sure to be one of the most captivating albums of the year.

Kitty Macfarlane will be at Gwaenysgor village hall on Saturday, October 6 at 7pm.

Tickets are £10, available from therecordjournal.co.uk.
