EVER stuck for something to do in Warrington and Lymm?

We have devised an ideal day in one of the best 101 places to live in Britain.

9am Start out in Sankey Valley Park. Where else is better for an early morning walk with the dog? As well as the beautiful canal, you can check out the maze, look at Bewsey Old Hall or reminisce about the Spider’s Web.

10am Hit Gulliver’s World. Warrington’s theme park is the ideal place for a family day out. And with a hotel and water park on site too, you could spend more than just a morning here.

Leigh Journal:

1pm Instead we are off to Warrington town centre. Get a butty from the Warrington Market, bite to eat at one of the many cafes and restaurants or indulge in some retail therapy at Golden Square. Still in the mood for some walking? There can be few more impressive sites than Bank Park with the Golden Gates and Town Hall.

3.30pm Shopping all done? Well head to Warrington Museum or the Pyramid. From an Egyptian mummy to a seal found in the Mersey, there is something for everyone. And check what is on at the Parr Hall – a trip in the past year could have taken you to see Jimmy Carr, The Stone Roses or Mickey Flanagan.

Leigh Journal:

5pm Done with the culture, it is time to cross the Mersey enjoy an evening stroll around Walton Hall. Play crazy hall, visit the children’s zoo or just enjoy the beauty of Warrington’s favourite park.

7pm After all that, it is time to treat yourself to a good meal. Stockton Heath and Lymm boast an array of choices. From the find dining of celebrity chef Aiden Byrne at the Church Green to Turkish, Italian, Spanish and everything in between, there is plenty to enjoy before a pint and taxi ride home.
