ALMOST 100 people have responded to a campaign to provide a ‘forever family’ for children in care.
The prospective adopters got in touch with the WWiSH adoption service after a major recruitment drive took place during National Adoption Week.
WWiSH, run by Warrington, Wigan and St Helens councils, currently has 63 children awaiting placement because of a shortfall in the number of adopters.
Ruth Fitzgerald, adoption manager at WWiSH, said: “Obviously there’s a long process to go through before a child is placed with a family. But to have so many people show an interest is encouraging.”
