ROTARIANS will be spreading festive joy around Astley in the run-up to Christmas.

Their newly-renovated Christmas float will be touring the area.

Monday night it will visit Manchester Road, Coach Road, Church Road and Withington Drive.

On Tuesday it will be around South Lane, North Lane, Willow Avenue and Prince’s Avenue and then on Wednesday areas around Parkfield Avenue, Wycombe Drive, Ennerdale Road and Prince’s Avenue will be visited.

The final stops – on Thursday night – will be around Manor Road, Higher Green Lane, Dunmail Close, and Astley Green Colliery Museum.

The float will also visit the carol service at the Methodist Church on Manchester Road at 7pm on Monday and the service at Astley Green Colliery Museum at 7.30pm on Thursday.

Shoppers will see it parked outside Tesco Extra in Leigh between 10am and 3pm on Friday, December 21, and at Sainsbury’s in Leigh on Saturday, December 22 and Sunday the 23rd.
