ATHERTON MP Julie Hilling has urged Culture Secretary Maria Miller to launch an inquiry into the media’s coverage of womens’ sports.
Ms Hilling raised the issue in a Commons debate, asking Mrs Miller what actions she could take to tackle the inequality of coverage in the media of women’s sport and the lack of sponsorship. She told MPs that even the BBC shied away from screening women’s sports and outside of the BBC, women’s sports fared even worse.
