A GLAMOUR model is in the running to win a national newspaper’s page three competition.

Twenty-two-year-old Rae from Tyldesley has reached the final three contestants of The Sun’s Page Three Idol 2013 title and the winner will be chosen this week.

Rae said: “I’ve always loved page three – the competition has been an amazing experience.”

She told the Journal how she started modelling as a hobby while at university.

“I never really thought about modelling as a career, I didn’t feel it would be possible, but when a close friend told me to give it a go properly, I thought well why not?” she said.

Rae was signed up after contacting photographer Danny Desantos for a test shoot and her pictures were then picked up by Girl Management.

“Before I knew it I was travelling down to London, signed and applying for castings,” she said.

“Modelling as a career has always been a dream and it is now starting to become a reality, one that is happening so quickly. In a matter of weeks things have changed so much for me.

“I couldn’t be happier. My family are so supportive which means the world to me.

“I never expected to get to the final three as the other models are stunning so when I got the call to congratulate me on getting through, I couldn’t speak. I even had to get my stepdad to ring my mum. I’m so thankful to everyone for supporting and voting for me, it means more than words can say.”
