TYLDESLEY branch members of the Royal British Legion have made quite a habit of winning VCs.
In the past four years they have been awarded the Jack White VC Trophy on three occasions, and the one time they missed out they were runners-up!
The award is made annually to the Greater Manchester branch that has made the most progress during the last year by attracting new members, maintaining existing membership, promptly submitting branch accounts and running a successful Poppy appeal.
Branch secretary and welfare case worker Jack Robinson, case worker Keith Stott, chairman Steven Head, case worker Steve Burke, youth member Sam Evans and parade marshall and Poppy appeal organiser Keith Houghton MBE were at Boothstown RBL Club on Saturday to receive the branch award at the annual meeting of Greater Manchester County RBL.
