TWO men who died after a collision in Boothstown have been identified.

Robert Crooks, 33, and Scott Best, 27, brothers from the Salford area, died following a multi-vehicle road traffic collision on Leigh Road at about 8.30pm last Thursday, February 7.

Their families have been informed and a dedicated Family Liaison Officer from Greater Manchester has been appointed.

A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle and remains in police custody for questioning.

Senior Investigating Officer, Police Sergeant Lee Westhead, said: "An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the collision and the events leading up to it."
