Atherton man in court charged with rape and sexual abuse

AN Atherton man accused of raping and sexually abusing a young girl appeared yesterday (Wednesday) at Liverpool Crown Court.

Terence Brickley, aged 41, is alleged to have raped the girl when she was aged under 13 and he also faces four charges of sexually assaulting her. The offences allegedly occurred between February 2008 and February 2010.

Brickley, of Bolton Road, was remanded on bail until May 20 when he is expected to enter his pleas. A date for his trial was provisionally fixed for July 22.
