Their artwork is currently displayed on the Saatchi Gallery website as part of the Sunday Telegraph Art Prize Schools competition that is sponsored by the Deutsche Bank.
The students entered are studying on a two year Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art & Design.
They are specialising in Fine Art hope their work will land them in the money. The first prize of £10,000 will be awarded to the winning art department, with a further £2,000 for the top pupil to be spent on art and computer equipment.
There are two further runner-up prizes of £5,000 each.
Art tutor, Lee Paton said: “The students have produced some beautiful and creative works of art. They have a professionalism and sophistication that is befitting of the type of modern artwork to be found in a world renowned institution such as the Saatchi Gallery.
"We were inspired by a visit to the Turner, Monet & Twombly exhibition held at Tate Liverpool.
"We then decided to work with the School's Dance department, drawing the dancers, recording the lines of their movements.
"We explored the two elements of colour and movement which allowed the students to create the large scale canvases entered into the competition. I am so proud of their work.”
