Brass band season resumes at Atherton Formby Hall

THE programme of brass band concerts resume on Sunday at the Formby Hall, Atherton.

Crewe based Co-operative Funeralcare Band North West perform the first concert of the year fresh from competing in the championship section of the North West Area contest held the week before in Blackpool. This year is the first time the Band will compete in the Grand Shield contest which is the qualifier for the British Open.

The Band formed in 1942 and has been sponsored by Co-operative Funeralcare since 2011.

It is making a welcome return to Atherton after last appearing at the Formby Hall in Bovember 2010.

The March 17 concert starts at 7.30pm. Doors open at 7pm.
