Woman bailed after man suffers serious head injury at Tyldesley

A woman arrested after a man suffered a life-threatening head injury in Wigan has been bailed.

Andrew Ainsworth, 45, was admitted to the Bolton Royal Infirmary shortly after 2pm on Tuesday 5 March 2013 by an ambulance crew.

Paramedics had previously been called to Kings Court off Market Street in Tyldesley, near to the back of the Edge pub and Bella Pizza shop on Castle Street to treat Andrew after he had been found with a serious head injury.

He was admitted and found with a cut to his scalp and a bleed on the brain. He remains in hospital for treatment but is making a good recovery.

A 35-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
