Bickershaw colliery site update at Wigan Road Labour Club, Leigh

SPORTS and games for all ages will feature at a fun event which runs from 1pm-3pm on Monday, March 25, at Wigan Road Labour Club, Leigh.
The event is being organised by Groundwork Lancashire West and Wigan and partners including the Wigan Greenheart Team, Wigan in Bloom and the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
The Edna Road club will be the focus of inside and outside games and will offer an update from environmentalists on the planned improvements to the former Bickershaw Colliery site. People will also have their opportunity to put forward suggestions for the site.
Leigh Ornithological Society and Wigan Biodiversity Partnership will highlight the wildlife on the site and its importance.
Mining heritage facts will be revealed and fun day visitors can practise bird spotting with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.
Leigh and District Anglers also will be on hand to offer fishing advice.
