HUNDREDS gathered in Hindley on Saturday for the Wigan and Leigh Hospice garden party.
Fine weather saw crowds gathering for a taste of the fun in the Kildare Street hospice gardens and joined in a sing-along to the excellent sounds of Wigan Ukulele Band.
Attractions ranged from face-painting to floral arrangements, burgers an banjos, toys and treats as partgoers revelled in the fun and friendly atmosphere.
Hospice fundraising team leader Maxine Armstrong said: “We want to express our appreciation to everyone who contributed towards making it another special day in the hospice calendar.
“Sincere thanks to all the companies who, every year, donate their time, talents and all manner of items in support of the work we do. Very special and sincere thanks must go to our brilliant hospice volunteers, without whom we could not operate – and to the public without whose ongoing support we could not survive.
“The event boosted the hospice bank account by £4,000. Thank you!”
