St Mary's Catholic High sixth formers celebrate A level success at Astley

AN Astley school is celebrating its best ever A level and BTEC results.
St. Mary’s Catholic High Sixth Form students have achieved over a 99.5% A* - E pass rate and an excellent 49% A* - B higher grade pass rate.
Delighted head teacher Andrew Dawson said: “The grades achieved are excellent and this outstanding set of results is due to the hard work, commitment and dedication of all the students and the support they have received from their families and school.
“I would like to thank all my colleagues for their professionalism and dedication in raising achievement for all.”
Students who achieved at least two A* or three A grades or their equivalent are: Ryan Adamson 2, Saad Ali 5, Ethan Billinge 2, Kerry Eccles 3, Sarah Ecclestone 4, Joe Gregson 4, Jodie Hibbert 3, Hannah Jones 3, Avril Lee 2, Jack Marshall 3, Jack McGrath 4, Beth Meadows 3, Louis Morris 2, Jamal Ogungbola 3, Shaun Palmer 5, Avanish Patel 3, Conor Raynor 4, Charlotte Scott 5, Emily Sharples 3, Joshua Smith 3, Chloe Walker 3.
St Mary’s chairman of governors Mr Jack Farrimond offered the students “sincere congratulations”.
He said: “I wish them all every success in the next step of their journey to university, apprenticeship or employment.”
Sixth form director Chris Glennon added: “St. Mary’s Sixth Form is very much an inclusive community and we work to celebrate the success of every student.
“Each qualification is a recognition both of two years hard work for the student and two years support and challenge from the school.
” We offer all our students every best wish for the future in continuing to aspire to achieve their hopes and dreams,"
