DOGS will be the centre of attention on Sunday when a family fun event is being staged at the North West region's Guide Dogs training centre at Atherton.
The community event runs from 10am until 4pm and features a sponsored pet dog walk with all pet dog owners invited to support the charity. Owners can enter their pets in a dog shows with categories for best rescue dog, most handsome male, waggiest tail, prettiest bitch, best veteran and the dog most like its owner.
Dog agility and guide dog displays will be held and visitors will get an insight in to how the guide dog trainers work their magic. A sensory tunnel located in the main building will enable people to experience what it is like to have sight loss.
Children's entertainment, face painting, rides, blindfold walks and activities and a variety of stalls will also feature.
The Guide Dogs centre is at Gibfield Park Ave, off Bag Lane/North Road, Atherton.
