Cadence Café opens pop-up shop in Leigh
1:50pm Tuesday 24th September 2013 in News
A POP-UP shop has opened in Leigh in the hope of raising awareness of Cadence Café’s training courses.
The shop in Spinning Gate shopping centre will be open for six weeks and will allow the café to reach a wider audience and see what people think the town needs in terms of creative activities and events.
It will also showcase the Training for Today courses that the café is running for people aged 16-19.
Director of Cadence Café Ian Jackson said: “We’re very excited to have this space for the next six weeks and we plan on fully utilising it. This is a great advert for creativity in the community.”
In the shop, there will be the chance to sign up for filming and music courses that aim to get kids off the streets and give them something creative to do.
It also hopes to draw attention to a new initiative from Brighter Sound and Cadence Café called Sound on the Street which will see a range of musical workshops held at the café.
To demonstrate what the schemes will offer, the empty shop is furnished with top of the range equipment including green screens, iPad minis and musical instruments.
The space will also see musical acts perform every Saturday afternoon.
