A LEIGH pub rewarded for the quality of its real ale is staging a beer festival this month.
The Thomas Burke in Leigh Road has been voted into the latest Campaign for Real Ale’s Good Beer Guide after South Lancs CAMRA branch members regularly checked out what the pub had to offer.
The quality of the drinks, customer service, decor and atmosphere all came under scrutiny and emerged with flying colours.
A CAMRA spokesman said: “The Thomas Burke deserves its place in the Good Beer Guide 2014.
“If a licensee serves an excellent pint of real ale, then everything else in the pub, including customer service, quality of food and atmosphere, are likely to be of an equally high standard.”
Pub manager, Philippa Hampson, said: “I am delighted that The Thomas Burke has been recognised for the quality of its real ales by CAMRA members.
“We offer our customers an excellent range of real ales at all times, including those from regional brewers and microbrewers, as well as hosting our own beer festivals.
“Staff at the pub work hard to ensure that the real ales on offer are kept in first-class condition at all times and the pub’s inclusion in the guide highlights this.”
From now until the end of the month 10 beers sourced from the United States will join a line up of 35 brews from the UK during a beer festival where each pint costs £2.15.
Customers will be able to sample any three of the real ales in special third of a pint glasses for the price of a pint.
