Wigan pie eaters and Leigh lobby gobblers clash at Leigh Sports Village

LONG standing rivalry between Leigh and Wigan will be seen at Leigh Sports Village match on Saturday.
Nine men from Wigan and nine from Leigh who attend Wigan Council’s Trim Down Shape Up exercise and weight management programme will clash to see who has shaped-up best in the last 12 weeks and can win this crucial football game.
The 18 players support local teams and want to emulate their sporting heroes. They have all been working hard on a 12 week programme of physical exercise and nutrition advice to ensure they shed some pounds and get fit and healthy. They now intend to show off their trimmer, fitter physiques and fancy footwork in this exciting match.
Leigh teamster Keith Hargreaves said: “I think it’s going to be a tightly fought game but I predict the score will be 4-2 to Leigh. I will be the rock in the middle of the park and the pie eaters are going to get it!”
Whichever side wins the match on Saturday one thing is for sure – all these men will be winners as they are taking their health and fitness seriously.
