12:00pm Sunday 27th October 2013 in News
ICE skating is about to become a walk in the park!
Manchester’s Heaton Park is being transformed into a winter wonderland and from November 9 you can skate in the park’s real ice skating rink which at 600 square metres is the largest in the city’s history. The rink will be inside a huge marquee, bedecked with sparkling lights, so that festive revellers can skate whatever the weather.
The rink will be open daily from 12pm until 10pm with hot and cold drinks and snacks available plus an open air Christmas market selling trinkets, homeware and cosmetics. Early bird tickets start from £4.50, available until October 31 from skatethepark.co.uk.
A donation of 10p from every early bird ticket sold will be go to Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention – genesisuk.org. From November 1, ticket prices will start at £5.20 off-peak, Monday to Thursday before 5pm, and £6.80 at peak times.
