AFTER finishing runner-up at last year’s Northern Open Championship Tyldesley Brass Band returns to St Helens hoping to go one better.
On Sunday, November 17, the William Singleton Trophy winners will be out to win in the contest in the Theatre Royal.
In their Milk Street headquarters in Tyldesley, conductor Rob Taylor has been busy rehearsing the band for the contest after a flurry of player changes.
Tyldesley have an influx of new music undergraduates from the University of Salford, hankering for experience and bringing with them a whole range of musical skills.
The band will have an opportunity to demonstrate its musical prowess on Sunday, November 10, at Atherton’s Formby Hall with its annual Remembrance Concert which starts at 7.30pm.
Entrance is free for under 16-year-olds.
