CENTURION Tom Spencer is the newest player to give his time to help the Leigh Community Trust.

The trust’s programme aims to increase the employability of 14-19 year old young NEET - not in education employment of training - residents through changing beneficiaries' attitudes towards work and employment.

It does this by providing an environment at the Leigh Sports Village that motivates them and delivering several different elements of the course using sport as an innovative vehicle to engagement.

Centurions head coach Paul Rowley said: "Without the assistance of the Trust, the signing of Tom Spencer would not have been possible. It enabled us to offer a competitive package to match several Super League clubs who were showing more than just an interest in acquiring Tom's services."

The trust is part of the Reaching Communities grants that are funded by the Big Lottery Fund and given to projects that help people and communities most in need.
