HUNDREDS turned out to enjoy mulled wine and roasted chestnuts as the Christmas lights in Golborne were switched on.
As a machine showered visitors with pretend snow, Mayor Clr Billy Rotherham turned on the lights while a choir from St Thomas’ Church of England School and the Golborne Brass Band provided entertainment in Kane Square.
Santa Claus made an appearance to spread some Christmas cheer and refreshments were available in Golborne Library.
