A BID to get kids active has seen a school awarded thousands of pounds to build a timber trail.
Gilded Hollins Community School in Leigh is benefiting from new outdoor equipment that can be used all year round.
The school received £9,950 from Awards for All England from the National Lottery to build the trail which includes stepping stones, balancing pieces and a separate log labyrinth.
Angela Coates, who volunteers at the school, said: “The aim of the equipment is to keep the children active and healthy.
“Trails are the perfect way to get children outdoors and encourage exercise.”
