The memory tree
A MEMORY tree has been officially switched on and is already adorned with special messages.
The first of its kind in Atherton, the tree lights were switched on by Mayor of Wigan Billy Rotherham on December 1 and people can now add their own sentiments, memories and wishes to it.
Tags on which to write a message are available from Prospect House, on Bolton Road, for £2, with all proceeds being donated to dementia charities.
