PUPILS from a Leigh school have been packing bags to help raise some Christmas spirit.
Leigh Central CP School chose 15 high achievers to spend an afternoon helping shoppers with their packing at Leigh Morrisons to raise £152.25 for Text Santa on Thursday.
The pupils also took part in a treasure hunt for gingerbread men and stars that spelt out ginger to win small chocolate Santas.
Community champion Sarah Mather said: “The children all loved taking part.
“On the tills the children were having fun and helping customers to pack their shopping. They were all fantastic.
“Morrisons are very pleased with the children for coming along and representing their school so fantastically, and offer them great thanks for this.”
