A TYLDESLEY man accused of stabbing another man to death has appeared at Liverpool Crown Court.
David Dempsey, aged 42, of Kermishaw Nook, is alleged to have murdered Steven Butterworth. He is also accused of robbery and possessing an offensive weapon.
When Dempsey first appeared at the court in mid-September he was accused of attempting to murder 62-year-old Mr Butterworth on August 25 after allegedly stabbing him in the chest in an incident in Leigh.
But the victim died in hospital on September 27 and Dempsey now faces a murder charge.
He had been due to enter his pleas on Friday but this has been adjourned until February 13. A trial date was fixed to begin on April 22.
