CUSTOMERS at Leigh Sainsbury’s were bowled over by junior cricket players who helped to pack bags.
The girls and boys teams from Leigh Cricket Club donned their whites to help customers and raise some money for specialist training equipment for the club.
The money will also be used to pay for coaching qualifications for the growing team of coaches.
Dan Carty, from the club, said: “The funds are all the more vital this year.
“The facilities and coaching at Leigh have needed a boost as they have seen record numbers of juniors attending the fully supervised coaching sessions every Friday night during the season.
“In fact on more than one occasion, there were over 100 children in attendance.”
