Leigh thief jailed for stealing booze from supermarket

A THIEF has been jailed for eight weeks at Bolton Magistrates’ Court.

Philip Atkinson, aged 34, of Westwell Street, Leigh, admitted stealing spirits worth £67.48 from Morrisons in Blackhorse Street on December 12. He admitted having a pair of wire cutters for use in connection with a theft.

He also admitted committing the crimes while subject to a suspended sentence for theft.
