A GRATEFUL grandmother raised thousands of pounds to say thank you to the hospital that helped her daughter conceive.
Wendy Stuart raised £18,915 to buy new equipment for the assisted conception unit at Leigh Infirmary after they helped her daughter Jane Stuart-Puttnam and son-in-law Nik conceive.
When Jane gave birth to her son Sebastian, Wendy organised and hosted a Miracle Ball to give something back to Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh (WWL) NHS Foundation.
Jane said: “It was emotional for me knowing that the new equipment will be able to help so many other couples conceive.
“I had always known there was a chance I would need to have fertility treatment. My GP referred my husband and I and with the help of the doctors there everything turned out perfectly and Sebastian is now a healthy, happy little boy.”
