A 23-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist from Leigh has died following a collision with a car in Chorley.
Two 125cc motorbikes were being ridden along Bolton Road towards Chorley yesterday, Wednesday, just after 4pm.
The first motorbike overtook two slow moving vehicles near to Albany Academy but as the second bike followed the rider lost control and collided with an oncoming Fiat Panda.
The rider was transported to Royal Preston Hospital with multiple injuries but sadly died a short time later.
Sgt Finn Quainton from the Force Road Policing Unit said: βAn investigation is underway into the circumstances of the collision but I would appeal to any witnesses to the collision to contact Lancashire Police on 101.β
Bolton Road was closed for three and a half hours while an investigation took place.
