A SCHOOL has received high praise for its excellent performance in 2013.

Tyldesley Primary School has received a letter from Westminster, congratulating the school for its excellent results in the key stage two exams.

The school came in the top 250 performing schools in terms of improvement since key stage one exams.

The letter was sent by David Laws MP, minister of state for schools and it reads: “Your school is exceptionally effective at educating its pupils. It is clear that you and your staff have provided your pupils with a good start in life and a strong springboard into secondary education.

“I would like to congratulate your staff, governors and pupils for their hard work and successes and thank you for your leadership in continuing to drive towards high standards of educational achievement.”

Executive head teacher Yvonne Brown said: “Tyldesley Primary School strives for excellence in all that it does. I am delighted that the outstanding achievements of our children have once again been recognised and commended at a National level.”
