A FITNESS fanatic is need of help to complete his hardest charity challenge to date.

Peter Bailey wants to complete the three peaks challenge - in the middle of cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End in an amalgamation of charity events he is calling Pete’s Pedals and Peaks.

A bank cashier by day, he raised £15,000 last year for The Christie by completing several charity events including two marathons, and Ironman and three triathlons.

But the 25-year-old is need of some help to make his dream of completing this latest challenge a reality.

He said: “Last year I was helped by the bank I work for but I am going it alone this time. I’m hoping to find some local businesses that will be happy to sponsor me in return for advertising on my kit.

“I also need someone who is willing to drive behind me the whole way free of charge in a rescue van with my supplies. I am hoping it won’t take longer than two weeks to complete as that’s all the time I can have off work.”

Peter, who is from Atherton, will set off from John O'Groats on June 27, stopping to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon before finishing at Land’s End in early July.

“I wanted to do something a bit different this year and maybe something no one has ever done before. I’m not too worried about the physical aspect of it as I exercise for about an hour a day but I’m guessing at some point I’ll have to climb some hills as practice,” he said.

The money he raises will be split equally between The Christie and the Alzheimers Society.
