HOWE Bridge Crematorium was the location for a Coronation Street funeral last week.
The Atherton crematorium was used to film scenes for the funeral of character Hayley Cropper after she chose to end her battle with cancer by taking her own life.
Her funeral was watched by 7.9 million people when it aired on ITV1 on Friday, but few will have realised it was filmed quite so close to home.
Crematorium manager Sandra Waldeis said: "I think the producers like it here because of the tranquil and quiet location and the light airy feel of our chapel.
"They were here for two days filming, which did not affect the normal day to day operation of the site. We did see some of the cast in passing and had the opportunity to speak to some of them."
It is the third funeral Coronation Street has filmed at the crematorium, just off Lovers Lane.
