A GOLBORNE singer is calling on girls to get involved in a male-dominated music festival.

Amy Burns, who performs using the name A Me B, has joined a campaign to get girls aged 13 to 19 involved in a Young Women's Music Group.

She has been producing and writing her own material since she was 12 and was nominated as best newcomer at the Official Mixtape Awards in London.

Amy said: "The DIY nature of the modern music industry has really opened up opportunities for people to produce and promote music across the world. I think the young women have a lot to say for themselves, it's great to be helping them get it out there."

Free sessions are available in Warrington for girls interested in music production, performance and promotion thanks to a partnership with the Youth Music charity, Warrington Youth Service and Score Creative Education.
