A TYLDESLEY man accused of stabbing another man to death today, Thursday, pleaded not guilty.
David Dempsey, aged 42, of Kermishaw Nook, is alleged to have murdered Steven Butterworth.
When Dempsey first appeared at Liverpool Crown Court in mid-September last year he was accused of attempting to murder 62-year-old Mr Butterworth on August 25 after allegedly stabbing him in the chest in an incident in Leigh.
But the victim died in hospital on September 27 and Dempsey was re-charged with murder.
Dempsey, who appeared in court via video link from Walton Prison, was further remanded in custody by Judge David Aubrey, QC to await trial beginning on April 22.
