PAINT provided parents with a peaceful afternoon at Bents Garden and Home.
The Glazebury garden centre let little ones loose with their brushes to decorate wooden bird boxes to give their weary parents a well earned break.
Also on offer during last week's half-term break were treasure hunts, face painting and cupcake decorating.
Managing director Matthew Bent said: "We have had great fun with our latest 'Inspiring Children to Do Workshops' with lots of beautifully decorated bird boxes being taken home.
"It was the perfect time to do this activity as it tied in with National Nest Box Week, which encourages people to put up nest boxes and make their garden a home for birds."
Bents recently handed over a cheque for £17,023 to The Christie, its charity of the year for 2013.
