A YOUNG fundraiser who wants to change the world is starting with a tea party.

Amiee Williams, aged eight, decided to hold a vintage tea party to raise money for Comic Relief after she was upset by watching children her own age drinking dirty water on the charity’s appeal show.

Not long after the planning had begun, a family friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and Aimee made the decision to split her fund.

Amiee, of Stone Cross Lane North in Lowton, said: “I was really upset when I watched Comic Relief with my family as I saw so many children the same age as me and my little sister Lucy drinking water that could make them poorly.

“I thought that I could host a vintage tea party with the help of my mum Terri Williams and my auntie Katie Glennard who is amazing at making cakes.

“Whilst I have been planning the party, I went to visit my auntie Julie Gleaves and I saw her mum Brenda.

“My mum told me that Brenda had been diagnosed with cancer and that made me really sad because she is a lovely lady so I decided to raise money to help others like Brenda.”

The Lowton St Mary’s pupil will share the money she raises between Comic Relief 2014 and Cancer Research UK.

Her aunt Katie said: “Amiee is such a kind loving young girl who wants to change the world and make poorly people better. I am very proud of her.”

There will be a bouncy castle, homemade crafts and cakes at the tea party on Saturday at Lowton St Mary's Church Hall on Newton Road from 1pm until 4pm.
