A COMPANY is creating more jobs for Leigh, as increasing demand has seen it expand.

Leigh-based Criminal Records Services Ltd is recruiting new members of staff due to the growing demand for their services.

The company processes disclosure and barring service (DBS) checks for organisations and has moved into new offices in Leigh Wharf, off Canal Street.

It has expanded after a successful 2013, which saw it gain more than 500 new customers, and the move is to make sure it can continue offering a high quality service.

Director Margaret Melling said: "Since we were formed in 2006, Criminal Records Services has processed Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) and disclosure and barring service (DBS) checks for more than 3,000 organisations in the private, charitable and statutory sectors.

"We provide organisations with thousands of CRB/DBS checks per year and offer first class specialist support on the CRB/DBS process, including providing advice and guidance, should a CRB/DBS check return with criminal information.

"We also offer specialised training and consultancy services to companies across the UK on all aspects of the criminal records process, including the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and criminal conviction interpretation.

"The call for these services is growing and these new offices will make sure our customers continue to receive the same quality of services. In addition, our ever-expanding customer base has resulted in the need to employ two further members of staff, with the possibility of further additions later in the year."
