YOUNG actors are getting ready for their curtain call at a prestigious theatre.
A cast of more than 30 students from Lowton Church of England High School will take centre stage at The Lowry Theatre in Salford in May to perform a new children's play called The Wardrobe.
The school was invited to take part in the National Theatre's Connections Festival, an annual celebration of drama, for the third year running.
Head of creative arts and technology Paula Radford said: “We are lucky enough to have lots of talented students who are really enthusiastic about the performing arts.”
“So when the invitation came through for the Connections Festival there was no shortage of volunteers to take part in the production.”
The Wardrobe by playwright Sam Holcroft tells the story of different groups of young people throughout history who hide inside the wardrobe to escape the horrors of their time.
