Friends all set to complete charity climb for Macmillan Cancer Support
7:40am Tuesday 25th March 2014 in News
A FUNDRAISER is preparing to walk the lift hill of one of the world's tallest rollercoasters in memory of her father.
Laura Shuttleworth, from Hindley Green, will be joined friends Lauren Gaskell and Mel Carr climbing to the 235ft summit of The Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on Friday for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity very close to my heart. Unfortunately I lost my dad Tony to pancreatic cancer two and half years ago and the support we received at the time from all of the Macmillan team was incredible,” said the 20-year-old.
“Every year I do some form of fundraising for Macmillan, usually in the form of a karaoke night at our local pub, but this time we wanted to do something a bit different.”
To sponsor Laura, Lauren and Mel visit: justgiving.com/WalkTheBigOne or text WTBO with the amount £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10 to 70070.
